Mr. Bojangles

A Brazilian friend of mine told me that there is a saying there: “As long as there are people clapping there will be a madman dancing”. I have another friend in the hospital, a younger person, who has to change her lifestyle a bit as we all do as we grow older… and I’d told her that she has to look at how she pictures herself and change it.

After all, sometimes the madman does the clapping, too. We see it every day, and we have marketers all over social media doing the clapping for products, services, politicians, and even wars.

As simple as that is, it merits considering that even as we clap, we dance, and as we dance, we clap, as do the people around us, as do the people we agree with, as do the people we disagree with.

Mr. Bojangles suddenly gained new meaning to me.
